Accessibility

A studio everyone can use.

We want everyone to be able to create, approve and order a portrait from Laurel & Paw. Here is what we do to make that possible, and how to reach us if anything gets in your way.

Our commitment

Laurel & Paw aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the widely used standard for accessible websites. We treat accessibility as part of every change we make to the site, not a one-time project.

Last reviewed: October 21, 2026.

What we have done

Text, labels and buttons meet WCAG color-contrast ratios on every page and every step of the portrait studios.

The whole site, including photo upload, works with a keyboard, with a visible outline showing where you are. Form fields, upload controls and buttons have names that screen readers announce.

Images have text descriptions, and purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.

Pages use headings and landmarks so you can move around by structure. The site works on phones and when zoomed to 200%, without sideways scrolling.

Animations are switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.

In October 2026 we checked every page and every studio step with automated accessibility testing and by keyboard, and fixed what we found. We check again whenever we make significant changes.

Known limitations

Portrait previews. Each preview is a piece of artwork made for you, so a short text description can’t capture every detail of a likeness. If you use a screen reader and would like a person to describe your preview, email us and we will.

Checkout. Payment happens on Shopify’s secure checkout, which Shopify designs and maintains for accessibility.

Need help or found a problem?

Email support@laurelandpaw.com or use our help page. Tell us which page you were on and what happened. A real person reads every message and replies, usually within one business day.

If any part of the site doesn’t work for you, we can create your portrait and take your order by email instead, at the same price.
