Photo tips for cats

  1. Get down to their level.
    Eye level beats looking down from above: their face and ears come out the right shape.
  2. Use daylight.
    A bright window works best. Flash turns cat eyes into glowing dots and hides their real color.
  3. Catch them relaxed.
    A calm cat on a sunny sill gives a clearer face than one mid-pounce. Whiskers and both ears in view are a bonus.
  4. One cat per photo is fine.
    Have two or three cats who never sit still together? Upload a photo of each and the studio puts them side by side.

Will it really look like my cat?

That's the point. The studio is built to keep what makes your cat theirs: eye color, whiskers, ear shape and coat pattern, from tabby stripes to tortoiseshell and calico patches. You zoom in on every detail before anything is printed, and can try another scene or photo first.

Is it a painting?

No. Your portrait is made with AI image tools from your own photo, then checked for likeness before you approve it. It's printed on fine-art paper or canvas, or delivered as a high-resolution digital file.

Can I put more than one cat in it?

Yes. Up to three pets fit in one portrait for the same price as one, cats and dogs together if you like, and each can come from a separate photo.

My cat has passed away. Can I still make one?

Yes. A favorite photo is all you need, and our memorial portraits are made gently for exactly this. See the memorial collection for scenes made to remember them.
